Uluwatu Temple Bali
Pura Luhur Uluwatu or Uluwatu Temple is a temple located in southhern Bali, precisely in the village of Pecatu, Kuta Sub – district, Badung. Uluwatu Temple Bali is located on a steep, high rock platform and protrudes into the sea, Sad Kayangan Temple is believed by Hindus as a buffer of 9 point of the wind.
This temple was originally used as a place to worship a holy priest from the 11th centure named Empu Kuturan. They revealed the traditional teachings of all the rules.
This temple is also used to woship the next holy priest Dang Hyang Nirartha who come to Bali in 1550 and end his sacred journey in this temple or called moksa.
Uluwatu Temple is located at an altitude of 97 meters above sea level. From the entrance you will pass through a small forest called Alas kekeran which functions as a sanctity temple support.
Uluwatu temple has several temples ordered, namely temples that are closely related to the main temple. The name of the pretended order is Bajurit temple, Pererepan temple, Dalem selonding temple and Dalem Pengleburan temple.
Each of these temples is closey related to Uluwatu Temple, especially on piodalan day. Piodalan at Uluwatu temple, Bajurit temple, Pererepan temple and Kulat temple on Tuesday Keliwon Wuku Medangsia every 210 days. The manifestation of god worshiped at Uluwatu temple is Lord Rudra.
